Gaurav Sharma is Vice President, IBM Service Partners, responsible for supporting India headquartered top Global System Integrators (GSIs) to cultivate strategic relationships and foster collaboration and maximise revenue growth - both for our partners and IBM.

In his prior role, Gaurav was the Vice President of IBM India Labs & Ecosystem. He led IBM Software (Development, Product Management, Design & Support) in areas of Data & AI, Automation, Security, and Sustainability to deliver cutting edge products in support of IBM’s strategy of Hybrid Cloud and AI. He was also responsible for leading global delivery teams working in Ecosystem Engineering, Watsonx Client Engineering and Global Delivery Center (GDC) of Technology Expert Labs.

In addition to leading one of IBM’s biggest innovation labs, he was responsible for working closely with Government (Center and State), Partners (GSI, ISVs etc) and Academia across India/SA for adoption, deployment and consumption of IBM’s products & offerings.

Gaurav was responsible for expanding business across India’s emerging clusters, establishing new labs (Ahmedabad & Kochi) in record time and devising strategy for increasing sales in the region with Red Hat and IBM Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) teams. He has worked as a developer, global product lead, client advocate, executive for Global System Integrators and partners of IBM.

Gaurav is passionate about contributing to various Indian Government flagship initiatives including Niti Aayog’s Atal Tinkering Labs, Directorate General of Resettlement (Min of Defence) and Education/ Skills development. He is part of the Engineering council in NASSCOM and is on the Innovation Panel for CII.

Gaurav has vast experience and expertise in various technology areas, specializing in Data/AI & Automation, Analytics (both structured and unstructured), enterprise content management (products and solutions) and information management.

He is a Master’s in Software Engineering from BITS Pilani and Bachelors in Technology, Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT BHU), Varanasi.
