General Manager, IBM Software, India and Software Innovation Lab
Sriram Raghavan is the General Manager, IBM Software, India, where he leads the country’s software engineering and product management organization, driving innovation, talent, and business growth at scale across multiple development centers. He is responsible for strengthening leadership and technical depth and partnering closely with sales and go-to-market teams to accelerate IBM’s software strategy and growth in the market.
He also serves as General Manager of the Software Innovation Lab, leading a global organization of scientists, engineers, and technologists focused on advancing breakthrough innovation and building next-generation capabilities across IBM’s software portfolio. In this capacity, he works closely with IBM Research to accelerate the commercialization of research innovations into enterprise-ready software products and platforms.
Previously, Sriram served as Vice President, IBM Research AI, where he led IBM’s global AI research agenda and R&D portfolio, spanning foundational and applied AI. He played a key role in translating cutting-edge research into scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
Earlier, he served as Director of the IBM Research Lab in India and Chief Technology Officer for IBM India and South Asia. Over more than two decades at IBM, he has led pioneering work across natural language processing, data management, and distributed systems in both the United States and India. He began his IBM career at the Almaden Research Center in the United States.
Sriram is an alumnus of Stanford University and the Indian Institute of Technology , Madras. He is a recipient of multiple IBM Corporate and IBM Research Accomplishment Awards.
