Roop Automotives Ltd. is one of the largest OEM suppliers of auto components in India catering to the automotive and non-automotive sectors through a wide range of products like steering yokes and systems, auto safety and spare parts. Incorporated in 1990 and headquartered in Sohna (Gurgaon) in India, Roop Automotives is a preferred international supplier for the steering systems manufacturers in North America and Europe.
The company embarked on a digital transformation journey by enhancing its existing IT infrastructure and embracing next-generation business process integration of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with SAP S/4HANA. However, for a successful migration, Roop Automotives required a high-performance platform without impacting their business operations.
Therefore, the company appointed Team1 Consulting as the implementation partner for driving the transformation project including end-to-end configurations and deployment. Team1 Consulting is a customer-centric organization, offering an innovative portfolio of IT Solutions and Services to help organizations manage their IT infrastructure more efficiently.
To address the client requirement, the team zeroed down on IBM Power 9 Systems H922, IBM PowerVM and IBM Storwize V5010E Storage. IBM Power 9 System easily integrated into the organization's cloud and cognitive strategy and delivered an industry-leading performance for mission-critical workloads. Since IBM Power servers provide an overall 2.5x performance over other competing brands, the team was able to deliver high performance and reliability for Roop Automotives with less hardware footprint.
A.Natarajan, Senior Manager IT, Roop Automotives Ltd said, “The project was an important milestone in our modernization journey and Team1 Consulting demonstrated a true partnership in helping us embark on our digital transformation journey. The key success factor of the project was the overall reliability, availability, security and scalability features of IBM Power 9 systems. The solution is deployed over IBM PowerVM which is superior to many virtualization options available in the market. This helped us consolidate our multiple workloads on fewer systems while increasing server utilization, achieving a higher SAP/core ratio and reducing costs. Overall, we have been able to achieve a significant performance improvement post-implementation of the solution.”
Today, leveraging IBM's unique, comprehensive approach to the cloud, from on-premises IT to a public cloud provider is helping clients move forward with confidence. A superior on-premises infrastructure for a hybrid cloud, the IBM Power H922 server provides twice as fast back-end I/O enabling seamless maximum speed and throughput between on-premises and multiple public cloud infrastructures with high availability. By leveraging IBM solutions, Roop Automotives Ltd has been able to achieve over 99 percent reliability and 40 percent increase in business performance.
